process

We don’t conceive preliminary images of our buildings in our minds and subsequently adjusting them to the assignment, but by striving to address fundamental questions arising from the location of the given site, the purpose, and the building material which initially lacks visual content in terms of existing architecture.

It is only after we have managed to address, step by step, the questions posed by the site, purpose, and material that the structures and spaces emerge which astonish us and which we believe possess the potential of a primordial force that reaches deeper than the mere arrangement of stylistically preconceived forms.

The central idea, integral to our building philosophy, is the seamless integration of all components into a cohesive whole, embodying the essence of our creation. Our minimalist approach seeks to distill the essential needs and functionalities required for the objects we are tasked to conceive. We are driven by the quest for the most suitable and efficient methods to achieve this, ensuring that our buildings harmonize with and enrich their surroundings.

We are deeply passionate about utilizing limited materials, exploring their versatility throughout every aspect of the building process, while meticulously considering the longevity of each material choice. Conscious of the enduring lifespan of our creations, we understand that they will evolve over time, adapting their appearance in response to usage and the passage of time itself.

Time holds significance in our architectural ethos; we believe that our buildings should gracefully evolve to accommodate changing environmental conditions and functional needs. While budget considerations are important, we firmly maintain that passion and exceptional design are paramount in crafting superior buildings. Through innovative design, we strive to create energy-efficient environments where people can live, unwind, work, and, above all, DREAM….!!

sustainability

At the heart of our endeavors lies a profound commitment to sustainability. This ethos permeates every phase of our projects, shaping not only the end result but also the journey toward it. From conceptualization to operation, we integrate sustainable practices into every aspect of our work, ensuring that environmental responsibility is not merely a goal but a guiding principle.

In the design phase, sustainability takes center stage as we meticulously craft spaces with efficiency and purpose. We optimize spatial layouts to minimize waste and maximize functionality, recognizing that every square foot holds potential for environmental impact. By strategically positioning buildings and considering their orientation, we harness natural resources such as sunlight and fresh air to enhance both comfort and energy efficiency.

Collaboration with environmental consultants from the project's inception is instrumental in shaping our sustainable strategy. Their expertise enables us to incorporate best practices into our designs, ensuring that our projects not only meet but exceed environmental standards.

As we transition to the building phase, our commitment to sustainability remains unwavering. We prioritize the selection of materials sourced locally and produced sustainably, reducing carbon emissions associated with transportation and manufacturing processes. Additionally, we partner with contractors who share our values, choosing those with a proven track record of sustainable operations and robust site management practices.

During construction, sustainability takes tangible form as we implement eco-friendly construction methods and practices. From waste reduction to responsible resource management, every decision is guided by our dedication to minimizing environmental impact while maximizing efficiency.

The operational phase marks the culmination of our sustainability journey, as we strive to maintain the same level of environmental responsibility throughout the building's lifespan. Efficiency becomes paramount as we optimize space utilization and energy consumption, ensuring that our buildings operate in harmony with their surroundings.

Through continuous monitoring and adaptation, we seek to enhance the sustainability of our projects over time, embracing innovation and emerging technologies to further minimize our ecological footprint. Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond individual projects, inspiring us to advocate for broader societal change and collective action to address pressing environmental challenges.

In essence, sustainability is not merely a core value but a guiding principle that informs every decision we make. It is a commitment to future generations, a testament to our belief that responsible development is not only possible but essential in creating a better, more sustainable world.

alessio venturi

Alessio is an Italian architect and academic with two decades of international experience. He graduated with a master's degree in Architecture from Università di Roma TRE in Rome in 2005, embarking on a remarkable journey that has shaped architectural landscapes worldwide.

In September 2001, while still a student, Alessio co-founded ArchiMedia Workshop in Rome, Italy, a company dedicated to supporting architectural practices with CGI and technical drawings. He oversaw its operations until 2006. Following this tenure, he moved to Sydney, Australia, where he immersed himself in large-scale projects, honing his craft and expanding his architectural repertoire.

Driven by a passion for challenging projects, Alessio then relocated to Paris, France, assuming the role of managing the construction site of a prestigious Hotel Particulier in the heart of the city. His meticulous attention to detail and unwavering commitment ensured the successful completion of this complex property.

Eager for new horizons, Alessio eventually settled in London in 2008, collaborating with renowned architectural practices such as Horden Cherry Lee and Clifford Tee + Gale on a diverse array of projects spanning the residential, commercial, and hospitality sectors. His portfolio includes landmark projects such as One Hyde Park (a residential building in the center of London Knightsbridge), Arundel Great Court (a residential and hotel building on the Strand in London), and Walmar House (the refurbishment and extension of this Grade I listed building on Regent Street, London).

In 2012, he established his own firm, Venturi Architects, focusing his attention and research on Hospitality, Residential, Leisure, and Art projects.

In 2014, he became Director for Leach Rhodes Walker and established and ran the London office, designing and leading various buildings, including the Hampton by Hilton in Stansted Airport (a 357-bedroom hotel) and the Pullman Hotel and Resort in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. His expertise and innovative approach left an indelible mark on each undertaking.

Since 2019, he has returned to his own practice, Venturi Architects, where he is working on a variety of projects, such as Icknield Street (a residential building in Birmingham), Ladbrooke House (a hotel, sports center, and apart-hotel in Birmingham), and Park Lane (a new hotel building in London). Venturi Architects quickly gained recognition for its cutting-edge designs and meticulous attention to client needs. The firm's work has been featured in various architectural and design magazines.

Alessio’s academic career began early, during his university studies in 1999-2001, when he served as an assistant for two years in the History of Architecture course under Professor Mario Manieri Elia. In 2004, he was invited by Professor Alfredo Passeri to deliver a lecture titled “The Future of Drawings,” discussing the transition from physical to digital architectural drawings, based on his experience with his own company.

In 2023, he began researching hotel hospitality, developing a manual outlining the basic principles of hotel building design. In January 2024, he was invited by Professor Giovanni Longobardi, head of the Architectural Department at Università di Roma TRE, to present his hospitality research in a workshop for third-year architectural students. The workshop combined theoretical lectures in the morning with practical exercises in the evening. Its success led to an invitation to conduct a summer school at Università di Roma TRE, expanding the workshop into a two-week program for professionals and graduates.

In September 2024, Alessio joined the School of Creative Arts at the University of Gloucestershire as a Lecturer in Architecture, leading the studio design module for third-year students in both the first and second semesters.

Currently, he is researching a specific topic in hospitality: the comparison between the English pub, the French bistro, and the Italian bar.

His research activities remain intense, and now his hospitality studies are in the process to be  compiled for the publication of the manual.

Simultaneously, he is developing House A, a prototype of sustainable and economical residential units designed to address the current necessity for affordable and eco-friendly homes.

Another area of his research focuses on urban-scale sustainability, investigating the potential use of fractal design principles for urban development.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Alessio remains deeply committed to the preservation of London’s historical heritage. Since 2020, he has been a valued member of the Planning Committee at the Soho Society, actively contributing to conservation efforts in the iconic London borough of Soho.

Alessio is extremely passionate about architecture, and his combined practical and academic commitments are a testament to this dedication.
